FinFeedAPI MCP Upgrade: Key Changes and What They Mean for Your Data Workflows

featured image

FinFeedAPI has released a major MCP API upgrade. This update focuses on one thing: making financial data easier to work with inside automated systems, AI agents, and real-time workflows.

The MCP API is no longer generated from REST.

It has been rebuilt specifically for machine consumption, which improves how data is delivered across all FinFeedAPI products:

This means more consistent responses, better structure, and fewer issues when integrating data into pipelines.

SSE (Server-Sent Events) MCP is now deprecated.

It will be removed on April 16, 2026.

To avoid disruptions, update your endpoint:

  • /sse/mcp

This is a required migration. Systems using /sse after the deadline will stop working.

This upgrade reduces the amount of work needed after receiving data. Instead of adapting responses from REST, MCP delivers data in a format that is easier to:

  • process automatically
  • combine across datasets
  • use in real-time systems

This is especially relevant when working with multiple FinFeedAPI products together.

FX data is often used inside calculations and pricing logic.

With MCP, responses are more consistent, which makes it easier to plug exchange rates directly into systems without extra transformation.

Filings are complex and difficult to process at scale.

MCP improves how this data is structured, making it easier to extract information, monitor companies, and use filings in automated analysis.

Prediction markets provide probability-based data.

With MCP, this data becomes easier to integrate into systems that track changes, react to events, or combine sentiment with other financial signals.

For historical data and large datasets, consistency is critical.

MCP reduces friction when running bulk analysis, backtesting, or feeding data into models.

MCP is designed for systems that use data programmatically. Instead of returning flexible but inconsistent responses, it focuses on delivering:

  • structured outputs
  • predictable formats
  • data that can be used immediately after retrieval

This is particularly useful when combining multiple data types like FX, filings, and prediction markets into a single workflow.

This update is part of a broader release across CoinAPI and FinFeedAPI.
